WELCOME TO TEXAS HISTORY,
This past week was a success! I am proud of all of you. Though we did not reach the 100% passing this first time around during our mini assessment gives us room to work smarter and more efficiently. Students I showed you the graph and how it correlated with procedures being followed. I am expecting all of us to pass with an 80 or above for our common assessment. Remember that attendance is of utmost importance! Please come to school everyday and ask you parents to set your doctors appointments in the afternoon. I challenge all seventh grade to have a 100% perfect attendance for one week this six weeks. This week we will wrap up with the regions of Texas and begin with the ancient people of Texas. How did they get here? What did hey do to survive? Who were their enemies? Why is there now a scarce amount of Native Americans? What happen to them? We will talk about this during class. Channel One has been lagging; I will change our do nows to daily journals. I know this throws off the rhythm of our class; although I know we can come and work together.

On Monday we will begin with our school wide fundraiser. We will be selling popcorn. You will receive your progress reports sometime this week. On Friday we will be talking about 16 de Septiembre! I will dress up! I encourage you to do the same!

This week we have covered maps and the Three Branches of Government/Separation of Powers. We will continue with the regions of Texas which falls into the Social Studies Strand of Geography. We will be referring back to the strands as we progress through the school year; make a mental note of that. As far as our do nows Channel One has be working wonderfully. I love our discussions during class and hope that your thinking process continues to flourish! For those of you who have not caught up with setting up your interactive notebook you need to see me during lunch. I am giving you the opportunity before progress report grades are due. Remember you can refer back at any point to my interactive notebook. Make this week a great one! A positive attitude keeps our classroom culture upbeat.
