Once we are done with presentations we will begin with the Road to the Texas Revolution. These are events that led to the start of the Texas Revolution.

Texas History Ornament Project

Due November 28, 2016

Create a visual representation (ornament) of what makes Texas special anything from the culture of Texas to the many immigrants in Texas to the State bird. You can decorate an ornament or create one.

·        You will present the ornament to the class by describing what it means and why you chose the design.

·        You must turn in 100 word explanation along with the ornament.

·        You can look for designs on Pinterest make sure you keep in mind that others might have the same idea. I have included a website below with examples.

Gooood Morning! Yes, it is Monday!! We are doing a great job with attendance 7th grade lets keep it up! This Six Weeks will fly; make sure that you keep up with all your work and remember if your assignments are 5 days late they will not be accepted. This week we will finish up with Mexican Independence and Empresarios Era. When we get back from Thanksgiving break we will be starting the Road to Revolution Era. 

This Wednesday we will be having a Parent Meeting at 5:00p.m. 

End of Year Trip Payment ($60)  is due. Please make sure you turn it in; I need to make sure I have a count of the amount of students going.

Let's keep our behavior and attendance going strong for the Second Six Weeks! Monday, we will discuss about the Early Explorers in Texas. Tuesday, we will continue with lecture on the Early Explorers in Texas. Wednesday, we will work on an interactive activity that will help you compare and contrast different explorers of Texas. 

Monday, October 3- Initial $20 deposit for end of year trip, turn in all missing assignments

Tuesday, October 4- Lecture on the Age of Contact, explorers in Texas

Wednesday, October 5- Report card pick-up at Peter Piper 4-6 p.m.

Thursday, October 6- Hestec trip

Friday, October 7- Spanish Missions



September 30 - $5 for Hestec due! Trip will be October 6, 2016.

Great job on attendance 7th grade, but we have to continue to strive for 100%! We will work on studying the Native Americans in Texas. 

Things to keep in mind,

September 19 - Turn in commitment letter for end of school year trip! We must have more than 60 students going on the trip. 

September 27 - Popcorn fundraiser money due. Let's do our best to sell as much as we can. 15 bags per student. 30 bags for class representatives. 

September 30 - $5 for Hestec due! Trip will be October 6, 2016.

WELCOME TO TEXAS HISTORY, 
We are working towards the end of the six weeks. Time has flown by and we have much to cover. I will review the regions of Texas to affirm we got it! I will cover the different groups of Native Americans this week. Although I will be out this week, I left material that will reinforce the understanding of the various cultures. We have been doing excellent as a grade level with attendance, thank you and continue coming to school!

Things to keep in mind,
